The Brick House--Oldest Continually Run Store in the US

Vacation means different things to different people--for some it's getting away to just relax. For some it's visiting long distance relatives. Some even stay home and use the time to accomplish projects. Some plan an aggressive itinerary and go, go, go. Ours was mostly the latter with a little relaxation (or exhaustion?) thrown in.

Our first stop on our journey (after driving 200 miles)was the oldest continually run general store in the USA. It is located in Bath, NH. It has been in business since 1790. Today they sell New England specialities such as meat, cheese, fudge and maple syrup. They have a neat display case of old items--like an old Postal Department regulations book, which caught my eye.

Next to the store is New Hampshire's longest covered bridge, also known as the Kiss 'n Bridge (of course, we did).
