Dad does it again!

Well, once again we were treated to the Windsor Senior Center's 2nd Annual Senior Talent Show. Last year my Dad did a comedy act. This year he was listed as pianist/entertainer as he played the piano and interjected comedy between songs.

For some reason, I lost the focus on my good camera and couldn't get it back. As I was filming him, I reached into my purse with my other hand and got out my trusty little pocket camera. Then I didn't take any chances and filmed with both cameras--one in each hand. The result is two videos. The first one is poor but it contains his introductory comments and his first song, so if you can just put up with the fuzziness and listen to it until about the two minute mark, then switch to video number two.
I did pretty good with the jiggling considering I was filming in two different hands! I was so glad that he played one of my favorite songs, Beethoven's Sonata Pathetique.

Again, basically listen to this one up to two minutes (I am sorry you will have to cut and paste these as my blog won't let me post it here):

I am also happy to say that he came in 3rd place!!!

Way to go Dad! :)

My Dad at the Senior Talent Show

You know those years of your parents attending your programs, sports games, recitals, etc.? And then they attend all the grandchildren events? Well, today we had a chance to have a reversal of roles as we attended the First Annual Windsor Senior Talent Show. Windsor is where my Dad plays cards every week and when he heard about the talent show he told us he was going to enter. We assumed he was going to play the piano but he told us he wanted to tell jokes. This was something he had never done before, but he had dropped hints for a few years that he was thinking of doing it sometime.

Well, today we saw his debut act.

The competition was stiff from hula dancers to the Charleston and other great acts.

I'm hoping this takes. It is a video of my Dad telling his jokes. For those who are prone to sea sickness, be forewarned. It is wobbly at parts, but you can close your eyes and listen to his delivery if you like. We are very proud of him!

The white haired woman next to Dad sang, "When I Grow too Old to Dream"--I wasn't the only one in tears!

Well, my Dad is still fulfilling his dreams and living life to the fullest!
