Short Sunday Hike

Today we decided to go for a short hike. I knew there was a handicap trail off of Goose Green Road and have long wanted to check it out. Today was the day. The only problem was this time of year, you have to take a short hike to get there! It was a nice and very quiet walk in the woods.

This is the view from Goose Green Beach to Stanclift Cove.

This is the handicapped trail. It is paved with a rope to guide, but the path is covered with leaves right now.

There was a bench here where you could see the Stanclift Cove Beach. It felt like a spot where people could spy on the people at the beach.

 A funny looking tree stump.

I enjoyed this rock. I see a nose and an eye and a mouth and if you were there in person, I would pointed out the bandana on its head. There are sign holders near this rock, but the signs were removed. I wonder if they were pointing out what I saw.

Yes, at one time there was a pay phone here, but all that remains is the sign and the post.
You can't see them, but there were several white birds in the water. I assumed they were gulls.

After we got to the car, we ran some errands and on the way home, we decided to check out Burr Pond. I can't remember ever being there and George vaguely remembered. As we saw how nice it was, he exclaimed, "Why don't we come here more often?"

I know people walk the trails here but we did not find them this time.
I got kick out of this sign "For Your Safety"..."No lifeguard on duty." Hmmm that doesn't sound really in interest of safety.
It was a nice day for a walk. There will be fewer hours available to do that as the time change happens and the colder weather arrives.
